Tour de France 2012, stage 13 & 14

16th July 2012 – Along the route of about 217 kilometers, from Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux to Le Cap d’Agde, André Greipel – Lotto Belisol won with the usual, persevering and fast Peter Sagan – Liquigas behind, third place instead for Evald Boasson Hagen – Team Sky. Basically nothing interesting happened in this stage while some surprise came out yesterday… first of all, the outriders pedaled easily without being caught by the group and giving the victory to a very good Louis Leon Sanchez – Rabobank who, thanks to his action, gave back some confidence to his team as these last days bad luck was so oppressive. And then there’s the incredible story about upholsterer’s nails found along the last stretch of the route… it’s surely an act of sabotage (none of the outriders punctured their wheels, so the nails were thrown after their passing and probably it’s someone “inside” the race) and this was a very stupid action as poor Robert Kiserlovski – Astana, fell owing to the puncture, broke his collarbone and now he’s out of the challenge. Anyway, Sky’s supremacy is still worrying all the riders who are quite out of sorts: nobody attacked and nobody tried to do some crazy action… let’s wait for something thrilling!
